Oregon casino guest wins record $253,853 jackpot; husband adds $10,904 at same table
A couple celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary at Three Rivers Casino Resort in Florence hit back-to-back jackpots at the same table, including what is believed to be the largest table games jackpot in Oregon history.
The casino said guest Janice won a $253,853.30 BSX Triple Diamond Progressive Jackpot while playing Three Card Poker. Casino officials said jackpots of that size are extremely rare on table games in Oregon, calling it one of the most significant progressive payouts ever recorded in the state.
“I am just so shocked. I’m still shocked! We just can’t believe it!” Janice said. “My whole body felt numb.”
The couple, club members since 2009, were visiting from Sandy, Oregon. The casino said Janice won the progressive jackpot after placing a $5 BSX side wager and hitting the bonus on the second hand dealt to her after sitting down at the table.
The winning streak continued hours later when her husband, Karl, won a BSX Double Diamond Jackpot for an additional $10,904 at the same table.
“I just never expected to win something like this, especially after my wife had just won!” he said.
Rich Colton, director of marketing at Three Rivers Casino Resort, said the win was a milestone for the casino and for table games statewide.

The couple said they plan to use the winnings for future cruises and vacations together.
“We love it here,” they shared. “The dealers and pit bosses are so nice. When we want to go for a getaway, we always come here. We spend every anniversary at Three Rivers Casino.”
