SUMMARY
In coordination with the Health & Human Services Director, the Dentist will be responsible for providing the usual and customary professional services of a Dentist for Tribal patients at the Tribal Dental Clinic in compliance with the standards of care and ethics of the American Dental Association, and regulations of the Indian Health Service. In addition to providing direct patient care, the Dentist will also be responsible for assigned administrative duties.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
 Doctor of Dental Surgery accreditation and dental license.
 Ability to supervise a dental team of assistants, hygienist, billing clerk and receptionist providing direction and performance evaluation.
 Ability to complete administrative duties related to Indian Health Service regulations and requirements and make patient referral to outside specialists and practitioners with all necessary documentation.
 Ability to work well with Tribal Government Staff and Tribal members of all ages.
 Valid Oregon driver’s license.
 Must be at least 18 years of age.
 Must possess reasonable ability to communicate in English.
 This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing and criminal history background check which may include fingerprinting.
 Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
 Indian preference will be observed in the hiring process.

LEVEL OF AUTHORITY & RESTRICTIONS
• Supervise a dental team of assistants, hygienist, billing clerk and receptionist providing direction and performance evaluation.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to walk, talk, hear, use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 40 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT
• All vacation time shall be pre-arranged and approved with the Health Services Director.
• Moderate noise level with frequent interruptions and distractions.
