Visit the West Coast Game Park in Bandon, OR

Lions and tigers and bears—oh my!
The Oregon coast isn’t just about beaches—it’s also a great place to see wildlife away from the water. The West Coast Game Park Safari allows you to walk amongst free-roaming wildlife that you can see and often pet, too.

It’s Oregon’s largest self-supporting wildlife attraction, and is a home to lions, bears, camels, leopards and zebras, among many more! The current featured animals are black bear cubs, and visitors can even interact with young wildlife while accompanied by a park attendant.

The West Coast Game Park Safari originated as a deer park, and it gives visitors a much closer look and better sense of interaction than what you’d get at a regular zoo. Summer hours are from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., but these change seasonally.

Make a road trip out of it!
Our casino and hotel in Florence, Ore. is about 80 miles up the Oregon coastline from the West Coast Game Park. Just head north on Highway 101, then take a right on OR-126 E—you’ll be here before you know it! Plus, there are plenty of fun stops along the way.

We recommend stopping in Coos Bay at the Shore Acres State Park. These beautiful gardens and landscapes feature plants from around the world, and make for a perfect place for you to get out and stretch your legs. And before you get back on the highway, stop for a sweet treat at Cranberry Sweets & More. Their handmade candies and chocolates are mouthwatering and will make your drive a little bit sweeter!

Then take a break in Reedsport. By the time you reach it, you’re almost to Florence, but another quick detour gives you the chance to see the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area. See Roosevelt Elk up close in their natural habitat, with plenty of viewing and photo opportunities.

Before you know it, you’ll arrive in Florence after seeing some of the best sites the Oregon Coast has to offer. Give us a call today for more tips on what to see in Oregon and to book your hotel reservation at an Oregon casino.
